2015 honda FitThe 2015 Honda Fit subcompact car is fully redesigned in terms of interior space improvements, new tech and safety features, and improved fuel economy. It’s this last category that draws many Mechanicstown drivers, as the 2015 Honda Fit mpg ratings are quite impressive. This is unsurprising, since Honda was the first manufacturer to offer vehicles with an Ultra-Low-Emission rating by the California Air Resources Board. Honda also claims the 2015 Fit is the most fuel-efficient Fit it’s ever produced. You can try the 2015 Fit now at Middletown Honda; in the meantime, keep reading to learn about its stellar mpg ratings!

Efficient Engine

The 2015 Fit offers a 1.5L i-VTEC four-cylinder engine with Earth Dreams technology, which is to say a direct-injection engine resulting in more efficient fuel use and better combustion. The efficiency ratings differ according to the transmission used, but all 2015 Fit models achieve impressive mpg ratings.

Six-Speed Manual Transmission

The six-speed manual transmission comes standard on LX and EX models, and results in 29 mpg in the city and an excellent 37 mpg on the highway.*

Continuously Variable Automatic Transmission (CVT)

The CVT works in tandem with the G-Shift system, which delivers power more efficiently to the Fit’s wheels. The CVT is optional on the base LX and EX models, whereas the top-trim EX-L model only comes with the CVT. On the entry level LX model, the Honda Fit derives an excellent 33 mpg in the city and a wonderful 41 mpg on the highway.* On the 2015 Fit EX and EX-L, the CVT enables it to achieve 32 mpg in the city and 38 mpg on the highway.*

Interior Design

With this out of the way, it seems only prudent to mention one more impressive aspect of the 2015 Fit aside from its mpg ratings: the interior. It has a modern and updated feel, and is much roomier than several competitors, especially given the amount of rear seat space.

Particularly impressive is its clever 60/40-split “Magic” rear seat. When flipped up, it creates a narrow roof-to-floor space that accommodates tall items that wouldn’t otherwise fit in a subcompact car. This, in combination with folding back the rear seats, yields a flat load floor and 52.7 cubic feet of cargo space — nearly as much as that afforded by some SUVs.
