The 2013 Honda Accord vs. the 2013 Nissan Altima
A sophisticated combination of high style, high tech, and high performance is what sets the 2013 Honda Accord Sedan, available at Middletown Honda, apart from the competition. Now celebrating its 30th year of production in the U.S., this sleek, smart 4-door, is among the most popular on the market today.
This latest edition is another fine example of the high level of engineering, design excellence, and dependability that we’ve all come to expect from Honda. Here at Middletown Honda, we invite you to take a look at how this new sedan compares to one of its chief rivals, the 2013 Nissan Altima.
Honda Comes Out on Top
The Accord comes with a wide variety of comfort and convenience features that many drivers have come to expect in modern vehicles, including steering wheel-mounted controls, two front power outlets, an MP3 player with auxiliary input audio jack, and multiple beverage holders.
In addition to all of these features, there are some more that are not available on the competing Nissan, including:
- Dual-Zone Automatic Climate Control
- Rearview Camera
- Cruise Control
- Illuminated Vanity Mirror
- and Cargo Area Tie-Downs
And while both vehicles carry many of the standard advanced safety features, such as anti-lock brakes, stability and traction control, and a full array of multi-stage airbags, the Honda includes a few important features that are missing with the Altima. These include second row head restraints, hill start assistance, and a stereo anti-theft system.
You’ll also get more room in the new Honda 4-door, which features 103.2 cubic feet of passenger and storage space, compared to the 101.9 cubic feet offered by the Altima. This may not seem like quite a lot, but when you look at how the space is arranged, you’ll appreciate all the extra room of the Accord. The interior is roomy and comfortable, and conveniently incorporates console, door pocket, overhead, and seatback storage.
The front-wheel drive Honda sedan is powered by a 2.4L 4-cylinder 16-valve DOHC engine, that delivers 185 hp and 181 lb-ft of torque, easily out-performing the 182 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque produced by the 2.5L 4-cylinder engine of the Nissan.
It’s an array of little things that put the Accord ahead of the Altima, but the fact remains that the Honda sedan comes out ahead of the competition yet again.
