Middletown Honda Supports America’s National Night Out!
When you hear the words, National Night Out what do you think of? Instantly thoughts of parties, food, fun and entertainment come to mind but did you know that America’s National Night Out is actually a night of crime awareness and prevention? It is a night of support for and participation in local neighborhood anticrime programs. Here at Middletown Honda
we are proud to continually support the Town of Wallkill’s Night Out Against Crime. This year’s 11th annual National Night Out will take place at the Town of Wallkill Little League Park from 6PM to 10PM on August 7th, 2012.
This year’s events include live entertainment, a rock climbing wall, “bounce-y” houses, finger painting, games, free prizes for the kids and much more! The most important part of the Town of Wallkill’s National Night Out is that the event is completely FREE! America’s National Night Out feels that awareness shouldn’t come with a cost. The Town of Wallkill’s event is sponsored by the Town of Wallkill’s Police Department. The Neighborhood Watch program and Project 365 are all promoted through the event that gets both kids and adults on the move to prevent crime.
Project 365 is a unique program that allows communities to pick downtrodden areas affected by crime or drugs. The program works as follows. Every year at the National Night Out Committee through the help of the community picks an area that they would like to improve by the next year’s National Night Out event. With hat being said project 365 gives you 365 days to complete the project that brightens up the community, physically, mentally and emotionally. For example some projects consisted of cleaning up and painting a local park to expanding the Neighborhood Watch to even a gang problem. Through this programs there have been monumental changes within the area. If you’d like to help or find out more about project 365 go to the Town of Wallkill’s National Night out on August 7th, 2012!
